Located close to Toronto’s Ontario College and York Universities, the new mansion is in the midst of renovations, but could be on the market soon if planners have their way.
“Residents of Mississauga are lucky to have access to the city’s greatest campus within the city,” Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie said in a statement in February. “I am grateful to the university for creating and maintaining this valuable asset to this community.”

Rising in a gated community on 1.1 acres of land in the esteemed area of Scarborough, the estate would be an elegant addition to any high-class neighborhood. Enter from a grand, brick driveway and you’re greeted by the grandest mansion a college graduate can hope for.

A glimpse inside the home shows its intricate furnishings — wood paneling on the walls and elegant lighting throughout.
The dining room has its own rounded staircase, while the master bedroom boasts a full bathroom, en suite double shower and walk-in closet. A bell-shaped sitting room, library and home office complete the residence.

“I’ve lived in Toronto for a number of years now, and I really believe that having an opportunity to have it closer to work and residence is something for Mississauga,” real estate agent Barb Griffin told CNN.
“It’s a classic Colonial architectural style, and it’s on one of the wealthiest streets in the city,” she added. “You can’t do better than that in terms of the amount of square footage that you have.”

The home will add approximately 12,200 square feet of modern living space in the community, Griffin said.
Next up, Griffin said there are potential renovations that could bring the property, which sits on private land, even closer to campus.
“So the designers have a wide open design and they can include a small bungalow with lots of gardens,” she said. “It’s a big appeal for Mississauga.”
