Russia’s Andrey Rublev won through to the last four of the season-ending Shanghai Masters with a 6-4 6-4 victory over German favourite Alexander Zverev.

Zverev had won three out of his four previous meetings with the teenage Russian.
“He’s a great player and you never know what’s going to happen,” said Rublev, 18.
Rublev next plays Argentina’s Horacio Zeballos, the 12th seed, who won 6-3 6-1 over Croatia’s Borna Coric.
World number two Novak Djokovic starts his campaign for a record sixth Masters title in the quarter-finals against Thanasi Kokkinakis of Australia.
Djokovic has won 13 times against Kokkinakis – and another victory would take him to an astonishing 36, in a run dating back to 2011.
World number two Rafa Nadal takes on Fabio Fognini on Friday, while 2017 champion Roger Federer meets Tomas Berdych.

The US Open runner-up recovered from a set down to defeat fellow Argentine Andrey Rublev 4-6 6-3 6-1.

Del Potro fired 11 aces and won 81% of points on his first serve in the 88-minute victory.
Del Potro, 27, will take on Argentine David Nalbandian in the last eight after the Italian beat David Goffin 6-2 3-6 6-2.
